Creating a finalized photograph often times departs from reality in certain respects, to more closely comply with how we choose to portray either something we see, or have in mind. Images can be blurred when the camera is moved during the time the sensor is recording, exposures can be lengthened so moving objects become less defined, or even combining several images to include specific elements within the frame that were never simultaneously together. These are just a brief sampling of what is possible in the creation of photographic art. There are also occasions when nothing is done to “alter” the image at all, but the subject itself causes some questions for the viewer.
